PSA – San Diego is on Fire

Apocalypse season has begun 5 months early down here in SoCal.

(Photographer:Luis Sinco / Los Angeles Times) - A wildfire burns in San Marcos as the moon rises in a smoky sky as seen from Carlsbad.

That’s the moon, not the sun, glowing yellow in the photo. Air quality sucks and the red-flag conditions will not abate until day after tomorrow. It’s been almost 7 years since the last big fire season. The canyons are full of dead and dessicated brush, ready to burst into flame. I live 35 miles south of where the fire in the photo is burning, and I can see the plume of smoke from the sidewalk in front of the house.

There’s no danger where I live, so lung and eye irritation is probably the most trouble I’ll experience. Others won’t be so lucky.
